Schult

Appearance

Schult is a young boy with big red glistering eyes and medium length fluffy and curly, peach-pink hair. He has a thin body which resembles a girl's and wears a butler's outfit over his still-developing body. The butler's attire primarily consists of a light purple long sleeved jacket with six gold buttons and shorts which are of the exact same color as the jacket. The cuffs and the collar have a pink accent with white stripes creating a caro pattern. Accompanying his elegant yet child-like attire, he can be seen sporting a large red ribbon. Perhaps one of the most unique assets of his attire are his white knee-high socks which give his appearance a bit of an out-of-fashion spin. His appearance is said to somehow give off an immoral feeling.

Personality

As his body is still developing, Schult's voice is high-pitched, like that of a child, making him come off as a bit younger than he actually is. Though his personality has not much seen in the story, as he normally stays quiet for most of his screen-time, he's shown to harbor deep respect for both Al and Priscilla, being prepared to even subject himself to danger just so he'd be able to finish the task given to him. Just like Al, he also deeply cares about Priscilla's well-being as shown when he was the only one protesting against the Princess' decision to personally check the zombie outbreak in one of the villages under her domain.

Schult doesn’t like it when people around him get hurt, and he will jump in the way of dangerous enemies who very well could kill him in order to prevent them from doing his comrades harm. He has also displayed a lack of discrimination towards those of other races, even going so far as to request someone like Emilia for help when necessary and without hesitation.

After Priscilla’s passing, though Schult was saddened, his resolve was strengthened dramatically, and he decided to live as someone Priscilla would be proud of.

History

Schult was a small and thin orphan without a name who grew up in a small farming village within the Barielle Barony. Despite being impoverished and starved, he caught Priscilla's eye, and she decided to take him in as a servant. After taking him in, she gave him the name Schult.

Priscilla's Cheers for Me, Entertainment Part

One day, Leip Barielle, Priscilla's then-husband, organized a tournament to decide who Priscilla's knight would be. She quickly got bored with the fighting while viewing the tournament, causing her to ask Schult for his thoughts. Schult decided to recommend Al, as he believed that the man showed care for Priscilla, unlike the other combatants. Priscilla thought Al was entertaining enough and that his fighting style was interesting, and she consequently selected him as her “clown”. This infuriated Leip, as he had tried to fix the tournament so that a winner would be under his control.

The Day I Gave Up on Being a Following Star

A few days later, Leip attempted to bring Al and Schult under his control, but he was refused when he revealed his intentions to make Priscilla into a puppet. Al clashed with Leip by using his ability, which resulted in the baron being incapacitated. In due time, Leip passed away before the commencement of the Royal Selection, leading Priscilla to take over as the governing lord of the Barielle Barony. Under her rule, the land, which was previously ravaged by severe poverty, quickly got back on its feet, and its people started to live much happier and better lives all thanks to Priscilla's leadership of the territory.

Sunlight Illuminating the Water's Surface

One day, Priscilla wanted Al to entertain her, though this resulted in her flicking him into a fountain on the grounds. With Schult worried about him and mentioning his helmet, Al mentioned that it wouldn't be destroyed so easily, after which he revealed to Priscilla he had acquired his helmet from and lost his arm at Ginunhive. With Priscilla becoming bored of listening to him, she told Schult to entertain her, leading him to tell her of a rumor that heading toward the spring near the town of Ladrima would allow one to see the deceased. Her interest piqued, she took them and headed toward the forest near Ladrima. There, Al questioned whether she wanted to see someone who had died, whereas she questioned his being against seeing the dead due to not wanting to see someone. Shortly after, Al was separated from his companions. After ordering Schult to take care of the fog, he went to break the crystal responsible for the fog, lifting it from the spring. This resulted in a short-lived fight with an evil spirit. Sometime later, when she was brought Kurenai flowers by a villager at her manor, Al realized that the actions Priscilla took were just so that she could see those flowers, and she ordered Al and Schult to decorate the manor.
