History

Frufoo was raised in the Suwen household, located in Otto's hometown, Picoutatte. She has known Otto since he was a child, and the two used to have conversations via Otto's Divine Protection. When Otto was banished from Picoutatte, he took Frufoo with him. They have been traveling together since.

Otto's Peddling Record of Joy and Sorrow

At one point, having made a successful business venture in the town of Guineb, as he and Frufoo prepared to leave, he was invited by the town's mayor, Colin Lavril, to his residence. There, he was asked how he crossed the mountains, to which Otto refused to discuss his secret. Colin then introduced Otto to his son, Ahim, and stated that his fiancée, Marone Lisbon, had been kidnapped, and because of that, he wanted to know how to cross the mountains. Though Otto still refused to give up his secrets, he proposed to relay a rescue service for the girl. Afterward, he was guided by his son, but along the way, Ahim led Otto into a trap, which resulted in Otto being imprisoned by slave traders.

In a cell, he met a girl who called him Number Two and introduced herself as Marone. According to her, Ahim was not her fiancée. He had deceived her and given her to the slave traders. After a while, some of the slave traders appeared, and when he asked where Frufoo was, they claimed that she worked for them. At some point after this while still in the cell, he told Marone that he had the "Divine Protection of Guidance" and made an agreement with her. Afterward, when they were put on his dragon carriage, he was told to reveal his path through the mountains. The deal with Ahim was that he would provide the traders women in exchange for leaving Guineb alone. With Frufoo taking the carriage, Otto directed the traders where there was a supposed path that they could use. Then, after calling out to Marone as part of their agreement, they held on tight as Frufoo was signaled to crash the carriage.

Otto and Marone had their injuries treated in a hospital in a nearby town, where he revealed that Guineb's mayor and son were likely to be investigated for the incident and Ahim likely arrested. Upon asking if she would return to Guineb, Marone refused. When Marone asked for his name, he said she could keep calling him Number Two, and he gave her his own savings, enough for her to start a new life anywhere she wanted, lying to her by saying it was a reward for taking down the slave traders. Then, Otto took off, Frufoo scolding him for lying but believing it was fine, and she looked forward to seeing his dream come true.
