Information
Although it is unknown how ancient of a family this house is, nor how long they have been serving House Astrea, House Remendis is a powerful house that has produced warriors capable of fighting alongside or in the place of House Astrea, with at least one of their heirlooms, Grimm Fauzen's greatshield, being made specifically for combat. From a young age, its members are trained in combat, learning the Flow Method as well as a unique style of swordsmanship that is unlike any other. As of yet, Carol Remendis is the only known practitioner of the Remendis-style swordsmanship that allows mid-air combat by kicking off of the sky. Even in the present, House Remendis continues to produce strong warriors. The twins, Flam and Grassis, are each a master of the Flow Method, giving them power contradictory to their small frames, and likewise, they are excellent practitioners of stealth. Even their aunt, Raksha, seems to be capable of combat, having been the one to give her husband his scar.
However, it is unknown what kind of position they have in the royal court. Nobles though they might be, they have yet to partake in the politics of the Kingdom. Likewise, their court rank is also unknown. This being said, their house does seem to be involved somewhat in the Royal Selection. Despite the major members of House Astrea being split apart into different camps, Carol and her husband Grimm continue to serve House Astrea, particularly Reinhard van Astrea. Meanwhile, their grandchildren Flam and Grassis not only act as direct servants to Reinhard, but they are also members of the Felt Camp, and they can be seen taking part in the camp’s conflicts. As of yet, the only major points of the house to be shown in the series are the actions of a few solitary members of their family taking part in the Demi-Human War or in conflicts revolving around the Royal Selection.
At present, House Remendis seems to be somewhat divided. Although there is no confirmation of any internal conflicts within the house, there are a few members of the house that do not seem to be part of the primary household or have seen to bear different surnames. Raksha, for example, and her daughter Plum, both carry the surnames of Risch and do not seem to be involved with noble affairs. Likewise, compared to her cousins, Plum does not seem to have been trained in the same way, living a relatively normal life. Carol, who married Grimm, also seems to have taken the surname Fauzen, although in their case, Grimm still technically married into House Remendis. Their involvement with the house’s internal affairs is unknown. Meanwhile, while the current whereabouts of Carol and Grimm’s other child is unknown, Flam and Grassis both carry the Remendis name, despite their grandparents each bearing the name Fauzen.
History
48-40 BA
- A young Carol Remendis, who was recognized as having displayed the greatest skill among her generation of her house, was assigned to be Theresia van Astrea’s attendant. Miffed about her pacifism despite being the supposed Sword Saint, she challenged Theresia repeatedly and was turned down. After eventually deciding to sneak attack her, she was promptly defeated, and after witnessing her skill, her tears at having caused her harm, and learning of Theresia’s Divine Protection, Carol became devoted to following Theresia for the rest of her life.
- When Theresia was initially assigned to guard Roswaal J. Mathers during the Demi-Human War, Carol decided to take her place so she wouldn’t have to take part in the war.
- Following the Battle of Castour Field, Carol and Roswaal visited Castour Field, alongside the Zergev Squadron, so that Roswaal could investigate the magic circles. Here, Carol met Grimm for the first time.
- During the investigation, the group learned of the existence of Sphinx, and they were forced to contend with a small army of undead. However, they were able to stop it thanks to Grimm cutting down the undead Tholter Weasily.
- At an unknown point after this, due to Theresia’s continued feeling of confinement and sadness, Carol suggested leaving her home at time, leading the girl to visit what becomes her flower field in the slums.
- In the following years, Carol accompanied Roswaal and the Zergev Squadron to the frontlines of the war.
- At some point, Carol learned of Theresia and Wilhelm Trias’s meetings and started to watch over them.
- Battle of Redonas Plateau. Assigned to protect Roswaal, they visited the main magic circle employed by Sphinx that had been placed on the field, and they encountered the Witch herself as well. Despite nearly meeting her demise, Carol was saved by Roswaal, and Sphinx was repelled.
- After meeting with a hospitalized Grimm, the two kissed and became lovers. At some point after this, she retrieved her house’s heirloom greatshield and gifted it to Grimm.
- Invasion of the Royal Castle. Alongside the newly rebuilt Zergev Squadron and Roswaal, they went to fight off the Demi-Human Alliance’s leaders who invaded the Royal Castle. Fighting alongside Roswaal and Grimm, they were able to corner and nearly kill Sphinx.
- Battle of the Trias Domain. After Wilhelm left everything behind to go save his home, Carol reported this to Theresia, and alongside the Zergev Squadron, they went to fight to save Wilhelm. This marked Theresia’s first battle in the war and the turning point for the entire war, with Carol conflicted over her newfound will to fight and Wilhelm vanishing for the following two years.
- After accompanying Theresia and the Zergev Squadron, the war finally came to an end after the Second Battle of Castour Field.
- Carol attended the ceremony to commend Theresia’s achievements, and she witnesses Wilhelm’s return and his battle with Theresia.
- After Wilhelm was given his ultimatum to rejoin the Royal Army, he was tasked with battling the entire Zergev Squadron and Carol all at the same time. In the end, Wilhelm won.
- A few months later, Carol attended Wilhelm’s and Theresia’s wedding.
- Carol accompanied the two on their honeymoon, acting as their guardian. During their trip to Picoutatte, she went to search for the one who assaulted Veltol Astrea and failed, and afterward, she bore witness to the Silver Flower Dance of Picoutatte.
39-38 BA
- Carol took part in subduing the conflicts created by the campaigns of Stride Vollachia, and at some point, she was cursed by his Authority.
- After the confirmation of Theresia’s pregnancy, Stride initiated an attack on House Astrea, activating his curse on Carol and forcing her to kill Veltol. Afterward, he takes her along with him to Picoutatte.
- Subjugation of the Blight Dragon. Carol was forced to act as Stride’s bodyguard due to the curse, leading to her fighting against Grimm. Eventually, one of Stride’s other subordinates is tasked with killing Carol, resulting in Roswaal jumping in the way to save her. After the curse on Carol was broken, she held Roswaal in her arms as she died.
- Carol attended Roswaal’s funeral, and despite crying over her death, Roswaal’s son, Karl, the next head of House Mathers, comforted her.
- With the Zergev Squadron being folded into the Royal Guard, Wilhelm, the new commander, takes Conwood Melahau as his deputy commander, allowing Grimm to marry Carol and become attendants to House Astrea together.

Despite this, she uses her Divine Protection to speak with Grassis and warn them of Al actions, allowing them to send Reinhard.
- After Al made his escape and Petra Leyte triggered his trap to summon the Witch of Envy, the group left the tower.
- Grassis accompanied Felt and her small army of 500 to confront Al. However, they fail, and Felt is taken hostage.
