Chisha Gold (チシャ・ゴールド) is the Fourth ranking Divine General of the Sacred Vollachia Empire and Emperor Vincent Vollachia's military advisor and decoy. He played important roles in The Travelogue of the Finest, The Tale of the Scarlet Princess, and Sword Identity, where he aided the emperor with the best of his abilities. As the instigator and ringleader of the civil war that struck the Vollachia Empire before Arc 7, he was the apparent main antagonist of the aforementioned arc.
Originally a commoner who happened to help the young emperor, Chisha quickly became a great ally to Vincent, helping him rise to the throne of the Empire. However, after the appearance of a certain Stargazer with a prophecy of the future, Chisha ousted the emperor from the throne with the help of the Imperial Prime Minister, hoping to save him from his demise, triggering Vollachia's civil war in the process. Eventually, he was killed by a resurrected Balleroy Temeglyph at the Great Disaster's commencement after sacrificing his own life to save Vincent's.

Appearance
Chisha Gold was a tall, lean man with relatively long snow-white hair with the tips of his bangs being purple in color. His extremely pale complexion made him give off an impression as if all the color drained from him. He was also noted to emit an aura of not entirely being present in the room. His golden eyes had a decorative purple teardrop at the outer side of each of his eyes which give off an air of mystery which befitted the Divine General rather well. He dressed in a long white coat that covers his body in its entirety. The coat has a rather high white collar and what appear to be 6 purple-colored gems at his chest area; three for each side of the chest. The inside of the coat seems to be a mixture of different colors arranged in stripes; darker white, grey and grey with circular purple designs respectively.
Before the coronation of the seventy-seventh emperor of the Vollachia Empire, Chisha wore the exact same dress but solely black. His hair was also of the same color, as well as his weapon. Following his injury that almost cost him his life, Chisha's hair turned white and thus, the Divine General decided to entirely switch his color scheme.
Personality
Chisha was a calm and collective individual, preferring to rely on his keen intellect rather than on his limited fighting strength. He walked around with an air of mystery and uncanniness, spoke in a polite manner, in contrast with some other Divine Generals such as Cecilus and Yorna, and generally gave off a more pacifistic vibe. Despite being a Divine General in the Vollachia Empire, Chisha was shown to not have much of the nationalistic tendencies others have, and admits his poor fighting capabilities,[1] claiming that he only became a Divine General out of necessity.
Despite his outward appearance, however, Chisha was cold and calculative, planning his every step and manipulating all of his opponents with borderline ease. With his keen intellect, he was easily able to impersonate Vincent's mannerisms and ways of thinking to perfection, while his decoy ability seemingly allowed him to morph into the emperor, keeping the throne occupied and preventing a nation-wide rebellion from occurring. He was the first to betray Vincent, though it was later revealed that he did so as part of a plan to use his own life as a substitute for the Great Disaster that was prophesied to kill "Vincent Vollachia".
History
Chisha was born in a commoner family under the name Chesha Trim (チェシャ・トリム, Chesha Torimu). Chesha first met Vincent Abellux when Vincent's dragon carriage got stuck in a ditch. Using his calculative skills, Chesha helped the prince get his dragon carriage unstuck. Noticing Chesha's excellent calculative abilities, Vincent decided to hire him, and Chesha started working for the soon-to-be emperor of the Vollachia Empire. Concerned about his public identity, Chesha asked Vincent to confer a new name upon him; hence, Vincent named him Chisha Gold.
The Tale of the Scarlet Princess
During the time of the Imperial Selection Ceremony, Chisha worked as Vincent Abellux's chief of strategy. His plans were instrumental to Vincent's success, though one of them, concocted in preparation for the Siege on the Abellux Castle, led to his near-fatal injury caused by Arakiya. This led to him completely losing his color,[2] as well as his sudden manifestation of his Noh ability. After Palladio Manesque's death at the hands of Prisca Benedict, Chisha made his presence known in the Manesque Castle and offered wine to her, which she ordered Arakiya to destroy, expecting it was poison. However, Arakiya, who had been convinced by Vincent to join his side in order to ensure Prisca's survival, began to lick the poisoned wine, quickly falling in an unstable condition. Chisha watched as Prisca took part of the poison from Arakiya in an attempt to save her life, and before she lost consciousness, proclaimed that he would have been willing serving her if he had not been working under Vincent. Much to Chisha's pleasure, Vincent's plan to defy the rules of the Imperial Selection Ceremony and spare his sister was successful, with the girl managing to take on a new identity while Arakiya joined their faction. Following the selection's conclusion and Vincent's ascendance to the throne, Chisha was appointed to the ranks of the Divine Generals.
The Travelogue of the Finest
After the rebellion four to five months before Arc 1, Chisha took place in a meeting about the incident alongside Vincent, Goz Ralfon, Groovy Gumlet, and Moguro Hagane. About a month later, he visited Lugunica in order to retrieve or dispose of Gramdart Holstoy, the culprit who conspired with Balleroy Temeglyph in the recent rebellion against Vincent and had faked his death to escape to Lugunica, in addition to finding and stop Cecilus, who entered the country without warning on his own accord to catch the traitor himself. Before returning to Vollachia, he witnessed the bout between Cecilus and the Sword Saint, Reinhard van Astrea.
Pre-Imperial Civil War
Some months before the events of Arc 7, Chisha learned of the coming Great Disaster and its start by Vincent's apparent death. Frustrated by Vincent's acceptance of this fact, Chisha confronted Ubilk to try and find a way around the prophecy. Hearing Ubilk relay that the death "Vincent Vollachia" was the signal for the start of the commandment, Chisha decided to use his Noh power to paint himself in the colors of Vincent and become the "Vincent Vollachia" that needed to die.
In an attempt to remove Vincent's little sister from the board and bring the Yang Sword to its full power, Chisha made attempts to snuff her life via the shinobi. At the recommendation of Olbart Dunkelkenn, he requested to meet with Yae Tenzen in hopes that she could carry out the task of infiltrating Leip Barielle's staff to observe Priscilla. He received her evaluation of her own skills and tasked her to stand by and closely observe Priscilla once hired and await the possibility of being given new instructions depending on the situation. Eventually, the time came for her to assassinate Priscilla, but she failed in her attempt, having been stopped by her knight, Al, who forced her into becoming his servant. Some time later, in response to Yae's failure, Chisha assigned a suicide squad comprised of ten shinobi, to kill Priscilla. The shinobi squad, led by Hamayal Wesmi, who was to personally carry out the assassination, took advantage of an event held by Priscilla in their effort to kill her. However, the majority of them were killed by Aldebaran and Yae, and Hamayal's mind was broken by Al, who made him into a pawn. Following the second failed assassination attempt, on Al's orders, Hamayal sent his Phantom Wolf through the letter that was to report how the mission had gone. The Phantom Wolf was set on Chisha as soon as he opened said letter, but Cecilus, who was in the room with him, eradicated it in a flash, ending Hamayal's life. Recognizing that Priscilla's guardians had taken care of the incident, Chisha gave up his attempts to assassinate her, having partially expected that it would be infeasible to begin with.
When the time came to set the board to achieve his aim, after directing most of the Divine Generals to various locations, infantilizing Cecilus after convincing him to go along with his plans and sending him to Ginunhive, investigating the Stone in Garkla, and sending assassins to lure Priscilla Barielle back to Vollachia, he teamed up with Berstetz Fondalfon and started a coup to oust the emperor. Defeating and imprisoning Goz who was defending the emperor, they successfully managed to make Vincent retreat to Buddheim Jungle. In order to make sure that Vincent was taking the threat seriously, Chisha sent imperial soldiers after him while he prepared himself and Ubilk, Olbart, and Kafma Irulux as his escorts to visit Yorna in Chaosflame.
Abilities
Noh (能, Nō): Chisha utilized a “power” that he dubbed “Noh”. By stealing the “colors” of an object he wished to become and wearing the “mask” of them that he received as a result, he could take on the exact form of an object. When putting on a mask, his body underwent a grotesque transformation to match that of the individual whose mask he wore. However, he could not wear and remove someone's mask repeatedly, and after he had torn off a mask a single time, it was used up and reduced to dust, and he was required to steal their colors again before being able to reacquire their mask. Furthermore, his thorough replication of the original person was not determined by simply wearing their mask alone, as in situations where he was forced to wear the mask of Vincent to act as his body double, Chisha had to devote his utmost efforts to avoid being perceived by someone such as Groovy, whose sense of smell could expose him,[3][4] unless he successfully obscured his heart from being smelled.[5] Having acquired this ability during the Imperial Selection Ceremony after being brought to the verge of death by Arakiya and losing his color, Chisha was required to maintain constant awareness to dye himself in another's colors.[6] Before instigating the civil war, he used this ability to take Olbart's colors,[7] and donned the mask of him to reproduce the Infantilization technique to shrink Cecilus,[8] before going on to don Vincent's mask until the end of his life. He kept the true nature of his ability a secret to everyone, including Vincent, as a contingency.[9] To this end, he had also stolen the colors of other people he had met in his life such as Ferris and Priscilla, preserving their masks in case there ever came a time where he needed them.
- Infantilization (幼児化, Yōji-ka): By taking Olbart's “colors”, Chisha was able to reproduce his Infantilization technique. By forcing a contract onto the target and altering their Od, he can rejuvenate the target’s body and physically make them younger, even altering their mind to revert to their youthful personality to match their body. This was originally a technique made to render the target powerless against the user. Likewise, unlike Olbart’s usage of the technique, he was able to seal the memories of his targets.
Keen Intellect: Chisha possessed considerable intellect and was capable of rapid critical thinking and planning. He had ascended to the rank of Fourth purely due to his calculative skills and outstandingly brilliant tactics. With him at his side, Vincent easily won conflicts and swiftly dispatched any and all dangers facing him. Furthermore, Chisha's keen intellect allowed him to impersonate Vincent to perfection and predicting his next moves, all the while fooling everyone in Vollachia with his “ability”.
Relative Power: Though noted to be rather weak for a Divine General, Chisha is able to stand his ground against someone as powerful as Arakiya, even if just for a short amount of time.
Equipment:
- White Fan: Chisha wields a fan in combat and is somewhat skilled with it.
