Re:Zero kara Hajimeru Isekai Seikatsu (Ｒｅ：ゼロから始める異世界生活, lit. Re: Starting Life in Another World from Zero) is an anime adaptation of Nagatsuki Tappei and Otsuka Shinichirou's light novel series of the same name animated by studio White Fox.
It was announced at the 2015 MF Bunko J Summer School Festival on July 19, 2015, began airing on April 3, 2016, and ended on September 19, 2016, with a total of 25 episodes. The opening and ending themes are Redo and STYX HELIX for the first cour and Paradisus-Paradoxum and Stay Alive for the second cour.
An OVA episode, titled Memory Snow, was announced in 2017, and was released in Japanese theatres on October 6, 2018. An English dub was announced in 2018, which aired on Funimation. A second OVA, titled Bonds of Ice, was announced on September 23, 2018, and was released on November 8, 2019.
The second season began airing on July 8, 2020. It was announced on March 23, 2019. It was previously announced on December 10, 2019, that Season 2 would debut in April 2020. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it had been delayed to July of that year. The second season was adapted as a split-cour, with the second cour airing on between January 6th, 2021 and March 24th, 2021.
Before the Season 2 premiere, a Director's Cut version of Season 1 with hour-long episodes started airing weekly from January 1, 2020. Each episode roughly combines two episodes from Season 1 into one with some updates to their animation and added content that was not on the initial airing. The Memory Snow OVA was added in the Director's Cut as episode 11.5. On May 27, 2020, the new Director's Cut, along with Season 1 and the Memory Snow OVA, became available on Blu-ray and DVD.
A third season was announced on March 25, 2023 at AnimeJapan 2023. On March 24, 2024, at AnimeJapan 2024, the release date of Season 3 was revealed to be in October 2024. At the MF Bunko J Summer School Festival, it was revealed that Season 3 would begin broadcasting on October 2 and be separated into at least two cours, titled the Attack Part and Counterattack Part.
A fourth season was announced on March 26, 2025. The premiere date is not yet known.

Season 1
A 25 episode anime adaptation was produced by WHITE FOX and directed by Watanabe Masaharu, and aired in Japan from April 2016 to September 2016. The anime was collected into nine DVD and Blu-ray Disc (BD) sets which were released from June 24, 2016 to February 24, 2017. It covered Arcs 1, 2 and 3
Season 2
A second season adaptation has been announced on the 23rd of March 2019. On the 11th of June 2020 (Thursday, 21:00 JST), the official release date was given. The season premiered on July 8th (Wednesday, 23:00 JST). The season is a split two cour adaptation, with the first cour airing on the aforementioned 8th of July. The second cour aired on January 6th, 2021 (Wednesday, 22:30 JST). Season 2 concluded with the 50th episode releasing on March 24th, 2021 and covered Arc 4, The Everlasting Contract, in its entirety.
Season 3
A third season was announced on March 25, 2023. The season premiered on July 5, 2024. The season is a split two cour adaptation, with the first cour airing on July 5, 2025. The second cour aired on February 5, 2025. Season 3 concluded with the 66th episode releasing on March 26, 2025. It covered a majority of Arc 5, The Stars That Engrave History.
Season 4
A fourth season adaptation has been announced on March 26, 2025. It will adapt the remainder of Arc 5 not included in Season 3 and Arc 6, The Corridor of Memories.
OVAs
A series of Original Video Animations (OVAs) were made for Re:Zero which adapts some of the side-stories and companion pieces to the main story.
Music
Suehiro Kenichirou of ONEMUSIC was in charge of the music for the anime. The first season uses Redo and STYX HELIX as its opening and ending theme for the first cour and Paradisus-Paradoxum and Stay Alive for the second cour. The second season uses Realize and Memento as the opening and ending theme for the first cour and Long Shot and Believe in You for the second cour. The third season uses Reweave and NOX LUX as its opening and ending theme.
