Felt
Rom sees Felt as his granddaughter and truly cares about her, being the one who gave her the name Felt. He likes to joke around with her and to support her during her work. He is extremely protective of her, and knowing the circumstances of her birth, he doesn't want Felt to have anything to do with the upper echelon of society. However, instead of taking her away from the Royal Capital to do so, he remained in the slums, feeling as though she would be unable to escape the throes that fate had for her. Likewise, he was against her joining the Royal Selection, even going so far as to risk his life to take her away from the castle. However, he ended up joining her camp as her strategist. Even then, he was resolved to protect her, even if it meant putting her on the throne to do so.
As a member of her camp, Rom has shown a powerful resolve to put her on the throne of the Kingdom. Though his past in the Demi-Human War still haunts him and he swore not to take up arms, he decided to put his past aside and take up his mantle as the Great Strategist once again to assist her, and he was even shown willing to throw away his own life to help her win.
Felt Camp
Reinhard van Astrea
The two seem to be on friendly terms, often talking about how best to handle Felt.
Emilia Camp
Natsuki Subaru
When the two met in Arc 1, they seemed to get along rather well, and Rom provided Subaru with an approximation of how much his phone would be worth. As such, Subaru does not seem him as a bad person. That said, their relationship was restarted following Subaru’s deaths. It is presently unknown how Rom thinks of Subaru after having had his life saved partially because of him.
Emilia
Despite at first directing her magic at Rom in response for the theft of her insignia, Emilia fought alongside and later healed him when his life was threatened. Though they were unable to speak to each other during the events of the Royal Selection Ceremony, when they spoke to each other in Arc 9, they were able to get along just fine, and they showed each other respect.
Priscilla Camp
Al
Rom was impressed with Al being able to plan ahead for Reinhard and utilize not only the Divine Dragon, but even the Witch of Envy. However, when he finally confronted Al in a game of wits during their confrontation in Arc 9, he realized that Al was neither predicting his opponents' moves, using strange magics, nor displaying a Divine Protection, and he considered him extremely dangerous when he narrowed it down to an Authority. Al also seems to be aware of his past, as he mentioned his role and viciousness during the Demi-Human War. Though he failed to stop Al, Rom was still willing to fight against Al to prevent him from taking off with Felt, and he even attempted to kill him, though he failed.
Crusch Camp
Wilhelm van Astrea
In the man's youth, the two were bitter enemies in the Demi-Human War. Wilhelm has become a trauma for Rom, as the giant believed that his strength was such that even if he led an army of one thousand soldiers, he saw no chance of victory.
Royal Family
Gionis Lugunica
Gionis was one of the only people to know about Valga’s captivity. Whether or not the two were friendly with each other is unknown, but when the man asked for information during Stride Vollachia’s attack, Valga provided him with information out of concern for his fellow demi-humans. It is unknown how their relationship stood after that, nor is it known how Valga feels about the man’s death.
Council of Wise Men
Miklotov McMahon
Though Valga’s “death” was made public, he was instead taken to Miklotov’s manor, where he was held captive. Naturally, Miklotov was the one who accommodated Valga, and he was only one of a few people to know about the giant’s survival. It is unknown how their relationship stands now.
Demi-Human Alliance
Libre Fermi
Rom lived most of his life as a slave but was saved by Libre Fermi and since then, Libre became his friend, teacher, and mother figure. Despite disagreeing with Libre on how they should engage their enemies, Rom ultimately respected him and felt sorrow at his death.
Sphinx
Rom once saw Sphinx as a comrade in his efforts to exterminate all of humankind. He found no issue with her usage of his deceased brethren and enemies as Corpse Soldiers and instead welcomed her methods. She also taught him about some of the world's secrets, such as the existence of Authorities and their ability to distort the reality of the world. It is unknown if his stance on her has since changed.
Lugunicans
Doltero Amule
Rom has known Doltero for a long time and is old friends with him. He acknowledges the man's strength and even believes that were he born earlier, he would likely have made a name for himself during the Demi-Human War, though he admits the man would likely have died.
Setanta
Setanta was an old friend of Rom. When Rom visited the Oni village back when Rem and Ram were still children, Setanta was unaware of Rom's new name, and believed that he still went by the name of Cromwell. Setanta resented Rom for changing over the years and no longer considered Rom a friend.
Kadomon Risch
Rom has some degree of affiliation with Kadomon, as the giant told Subaru that he could be contacted through the appa seller. Their exact relationship has not been shown yet.
