Family

Elsa Granhiert

On Mama's orders, Elsa met Meili Portroute in a forest. At that time, Meili did not know how to talk or act like a human being. Because of the latter, she started to admire Elsa and began acting like her. Elsa quickly became Meili's purpose to live and could not imagine what life would be without her, as she taught Meili how to talk and live her life.

After Elsa's death, she was extremely troubled by this. In fact, she promised herself that she would kill the one that killed Elsa Granhiert.

Emilia Camp

Natsuki Subaru

Meili had complicated feelings on her being kept close to Elsa's killer but being unable to avenge her. In Arc 6, Meili would attempt to kill Subaru, even succeeding in two failed loops. However, when Meili was confronted by Subaru, he would make the decision to help teach her right from wrong, something she wasn’t taught growing up, as seen in her Book of the Dead in a previous loop. Meili would ultimately stick to his words, and she would officially join the Emilia Camp. Fighting alongside Subaru against a transformed Shaula, he would ask her to become his daughter, which would leave her flustered and trying to keep her focus. In that same fight, Subaru would ultimately save her life.

Even when she was separated from the camp, she would think fondly of Subaru, and she would remain dedicated to her task of leading the second expedition team to the watchtower while the others went to retrieve Subaru. Later, after Subaru returned and was promptly sealed by Al, Meili was concerned for him and was ready to kill Al to get him back.

Emilia

Like Subaru, she wants to give Meili a chance to learn from her past mistakes. After preventing Meili from killing Subaru, she would decide with Subaru to help properly teach her about morality, and she would allow Meili to officially join their camp. Even while she was separated from the camp, she thought rather fondly of Emilia. Later, after reuniting, however, when Emilia ran to hug her, though she timidly returned it, she remained stubborn about her happy emotions to be reunited.

Petra Leyte

Thanks to Meili’s actions in Arcs 2 and 4, Petra held a grudge towards the young assassin. That said, Petra would often meet her while she was locked in the Roswaal Manor “prison” to keep an eye on her, claiming that she wanted to keep her from going down a worse path. As such, she also had the tendency to engage in conversations with her, even complaining about the other members of the camp to her. As of Arc 9, the two are friendly with each other, with both of them teasing the other. After Al's scheme in the Pleiades Watchtower, Meili showed concern for Petra while she was upset, and after she read Subaru's Book of the Dead and passed out, Meili rushed to catch her and was shocked by her reaction to reading the book. When the Witch of Envy appeared, Meili's first instinct was to hold Petra close, as if to protect her. Later, when she awoke, Meili showed concern for and even comforted her, and when Petra showed an interest in taking a Witch Factor, Meili was heavily against it.

Beatrice

After learning of Meili’s attempted assassination of Subaru in the Pleiades Watchtower, Beatrice’s wariness of her would increase. Even after it was prevented, Beatrice stated that she would not have been so forgiving if Subaru had come to harm. Even so, Beatrice would still fight alongside her and Subaru against a transformed Shaula, and she would ultimately save her life.

Rem

Although the two have barely interacted, after Meili regained the few memories she had of Rem, she felt complicated about it, as Rem was the one responsible for causing Meili's failure in Arc 2 and slaughtered her Wolgarms, yet simultaneously was part of the reason that she was accepted into the camp by minimizing the damage that she caused.

Felt Camp

Felt

Despite Felt being made aware of her former position as an assassin, Felt didn’t have any negative feelings toward the girl, and she even understood her reasoning for revealing this occupation in front of the Council of Wise Men. Over the course of their journey to the Pleiades Watchtower, the two would remain friendly.

Reinhard van Astrea

Upon first meeting the Sword Saint, she instinctually felt his strength and froze in fear of him. However, Reinhard was used to this reaction, so he paid it no mind. Over the course of the journey to the Pleiades Watchtower, though she would grow used to his presence, she would still somewhat fear him.

Priscilla Camp

Al

Initially, Meili had no real opinion of Al. However, after his actions in the Pleiades Watchtower, Meili had every intention to have the Crimson Scorpion shoot him down if not for him holding Subaru’s life in his hands.

Witch Cult

Mother

Having ordered Elsa to retrieve Meili, she was indirectly responsible for Meili's "saving". Having showed Meili her place, the aforementioned Witchbeast User had a great deal of respect and awe towards her. However, if Meili ever failed Mother, she'd be turned into a bunch of frogs, greatly traumatizing the young assassin. After Elsa's death and Meili's defeat, she is currently hiding from the organization by allowing herself to be held captive and later joining the Emilia Camp, as appearing before Mother once again would lead to her certain demise.

Others

Shaula

During her stay at the Pleiades Watchtower, Meili becomes attached to Shaula, who she refers to as "naked onee-san", and typically spends her time hanging on to her shoulder. After Shaula was reduced to a small scorpion Witchbeast with no sign of her original personality, Meili still takes care of her, carrying her around on her head.
