Carol Remendis/Relationships

Family

Grimm Fauzen

The two met shortly after the Battle of Castour Field, with Grimm keeping her occupied with conversation in order to keep her from fighting with Wilhelm. Following their ambush and Grimm's slaying of the undead Tholter Weasily, Carol spoke with him to help calm him down, and their conversation led to him falling in love with her. In the following years, Grimm was able to alleviate her worries over both Wilhelm and her own master, and she decided to help him train with his shield. Over time, the two became significantly closer, with Grimm being one of the only people who could calm her anger and Carol later giving him a locket as a good luck charm. Following the Battle of Aihiya Swamp, she was very worried for Grimm after he took his throat injury, and when she went to meet him, she cried and apologized to him, leading to Grimm kissing her and the two becoming lovers. Afterward, to celebrate his survival, she gave him a shield that was a House Remendis heirloom, something that ultimately saved his life in a later battle. After Grimm was given a new house, Carol often visited him and stayed the night, and following the wedding reception of Wilhelm and Theresia, after Carol was tossed the bouquet for fortune with her own future marriage, Grimm pulled her close, took the bouquet, and raised it high in the sky, as if to declare that they were next. Later on, at some point after Grimm became a knight, the two got married and started serving House Astrea together.

Felt Camp

Reinhard van Astrea

As a servant of the House Astrea, she has sworn to follow Reinhard’s orders, and she was even entrusted with the care of his unconscious mother, Louanna. However, she has a tendency worry over him, and she finds relief due to Felt's positive influence on him and believes that she can leave his care to her.

Felt

When she was discovered to be the fifth of the Royal Selection Candidates, Carol was responsible for her care during the time she resided within Astrea Manor. She has stopped Felt’s escape numerous times, but she does not seem to mind this. In fact, seeing how her relationship with Reinhard is, she seems to be happy to leave him in Felt’s care.

Crusch Camp

Wilhelm van Astrea

Like Grimm, Carol became first acquainted with Wilhelm in the Demi-human War, but unlike the former, she and Wilhelm's relationship was rocky throughout much of it. In those days, because Carol's strong-headed personality directly clashed with Wilhelm's curt and afoot attitude, they ended up arguing quite a bit, leading to Grimm having to step in to keep her occupied and her attention away from Wilhelm. Over time, though their arguments didn't subside, Carol got to know Wilhelm better and trusted his strength and influence. Later on, she was conflicted with him due to his influence on Theresia, but with his series of emotional changes and his giving Theresia a reason to smile again, she began hoping for the two to be able to spend more time together, feeling gratitude and envy at being able to do something for Theresia that she couldn't. At times, she even spied on their rendezvouses. This said, she was worried when he disappeared after the Battle of the Trias Domain, and she made sure to yell at him for Theresia, who she knew would not be mad.

Royal Army

Theresia van Astrea

Carol and Theresia harbor a sibling-like bond. Their initial relationship was rocky at first, as Carol was someone who took great pride in her swordsmanship and so held little in the way of respect for Theresia, whom she couldn't understand the reasons why she shunned the gift she was given and thought of her as nothing but a self-centered coward. At one point in her desire to see if she was truly the Sword Saint, she asked Theresia that she wants to take lessons from her, but she rejected the offer. She conducted an incident that would test her swordsmanship, but Theresia hit her before she would get the chance. Because the attack could have killed her, Carol would finally look upon Theresia with a sense of awe and fear. However, what surprised Carol the most was when she expected a severe reprimand for her transgressions, she instead received kindness born out of genuine heartfelt worry for her life. It was then that Carol truly understood the terror of Theresia's abilities, and the reason why she did not use them despite external forces forcing her to do so. This led to Carol feel shame towards her provocation and disrespect towards the sincere and kind-hearted Theresia. From then on, she began to develop deep admiration and love for Theresia and would do everything she could to ensure her happiness.

Lugunicans

Roswaal J. Mathers

Carol thinks of Roswaal J. Mathers as a dear friend. They spent a lot of time together during the Demi-Human War as she served as her escort. Carol was extremely respectful towards her and felt deep anguish when Julia sacrificed herself to save Carol's life. To the end, Carol thought of her as a beloved friend and mourned her death.
