Sirius Romanée-Conti (シリウス・ロマネコンティ) is a Sin Archbishop of the Witch Cult, representing Wrath. She was one of the main antagonists of Arc 5 alongside her fellow Sin Archbishops, leading an assault on the Watergate City of Priestella.
Sirius was taken into the Kingdom's custody after losing a battle against Priscilla Barielle and Liliana Masquerade, which led her to be delivered to the Royal Capital by Felt and Reinhard van Astrea. She is currently being held in its Prison Tower, where she remains locked away with the help of Evil Sealing Stones.

Appearance
Sirius is covered head-to-toe in white bandages, with only her mouth and left eye left unobscured, though some breaches in her bandages allow part of her full head of long silver hair to seep out. The visible eye is amethyst purple with a blue pupil, and her ears seem to be pointed. Around her neck, she bears a steel choker with the Witch Cult's coat of arms attached. Additionally, something similar to a red teardrop is constantly affixed below her left eye.
Her long golden steel chains are wrapped around her arms and trail along the ground as she moves. These chains have hooks on their edges which allow Sirius to wield them lethally in close combat. Other than her bandages and chains, the only other thing Sirius wears is a long purple cloak. The inside of the cloak is sky blue with several vertical red decorative lines. Although not visible, she carries the Gospel of the Witch Cult around in her cloak.
Personality
As shown by her position, Sirius can be wrathful when she becomes angry, though normally she gives off a disgusting aura. She is also Petelgeuse's stalker and is his self-proclaimed wife, arbitrarily adopting the madman's surname. She speaks in an intimate, rational manner, but with an off-putting attitude. Sirius has a distinct way of speaking, repeatedly apologizing to everyone about nothing or small things. She does not stand people who belittle her relationship with Petelgeuse as seen when she tried to kill Regulus for saying that she was disgusting for clinging to a deceased person. Strangely enough, she harbors hatred towards the Witch of Envy, going as far as promising Subaru (who she thought was Petelgeuse) that she would burn her before him if he ever managed to revive the Witch, and naturally, this hatred extends to Emilia, who bears the Witch’s resemblance. Sirius despises any woman that's too close to her beloved Petelgeuse, as seen when she expressed her hatred towards Beatrice for simply standing next to Subaru and asking him what he found so appealing about her, before threatening to burn her alive.
Sirius also seems to have no qualms with doing whatever she can to win in combat against opponents she dislikes, even going so far as to take a child hostage to protect her from particularly powerful combatants like Emilia and Priscilla. On the other hand, for those she holds no hatred for and are still superior to her, such as Reinhard, she does not seem to feel the need to do so. Instead, she will drag down everyone nearby while accepting her death.
Sirius demonstrated a twisted and freakish view of love. In her opinion, the best representation of love is to become one. To her, love is a prayer for becoming one, seeing the same things, feeling the same emotions, living the same life, and ending the same death. She also has a habit of excessively thanking and immediately thereafter apologizing to other people. After losing to Priscilla and Liliana in Priestella, Sirius began believing songs were wonderful despite misunderstanding the feelings behind songs. Even though she resultingly picked up the habit of humming, Sirius' songs are out of tune, out of pitch, without rhythm, and dissonant. Subaru and Felt found their sound irritating.
History
Currently, little is known about Sirius' past including how she became the Sin Archbishop of Wrath and how she obtained the Witch Factor of Wrath. However, according to her, her hometown was destroyed by a Witch Hunt long ago.[1] Presumably, since Sirius's Authority is thought to grant her extreme longevity, she has lived for a very long time, though it is unknown how long. Also, according to herself, Petelgeuse is the one who gave her her name and her Wrath.
According to Petelgeuse, during the events of Arc 3, she was on a mission outside of Lugunica. At some point following the arc, Sirius retrieved Petelgeuse's remains, cremated them, and systematically found and slew all of his fingers with the hope she would find him.
The Lion's Ferocity
Following the Battle for Priestella, Sirius was escorted by Felt and Reinhard van Astrea. Though the traveling was expected to last for a month at best, due to the unnatural trouble and misfortune that seemed to plague Sirius, such as bandit or witchbeast attacks or damaged pathways, their arrival was delayed. Despite this, however, not a single member of the Witch Cult came to retrieve Sirius, and Wrath was left to speak with Felt, successfully creeping her out. In the end, she was brought to the Prison Tower, where she was to be held by Evil Sealing Stones, much to the Sin Archbishop’s chagrin.
Abilities
Authority of Wrath (憤怒の権能 Fundo no Ken'nō): Sirius can use the Authority of Wrath.
- Soulwashing (洗魂 Arai Tamashī): In a large but currently unspecified area of influence, Sirius can share or transmit her emotions and senses to others. After polarizing emotions such as anger, sorrow, joy, or ecstasy, she can transmit it to any person in her vicinity, either taking control of them or resonating a certain emotion between a certain amount of people to raise it to the point of madness. Also, since she can share senses such as distress or pain, if anyone is injured or dies within the area of effect, she can force others within the same area to die or receive the same injuries, in the same way. The Authority's intensity seems to fade the further the range and extension, and the effectiveness can vary drastically between people. Sirius also possesses the ability to exclude people from the effects of her Authority. Her Authority can, however, be resisted by creating emotions intense enough to break them free from its influence. In the case of Priscilla, it was her excessive pride, whereas with Liliana and an entire affected crowd, a combination of roused emotions through Liliana's music and Priscilla's Soul Marriage Technique managed to free them. Likewise, other people can use her Authority against her: when an entire city was at its lowest and most desperate while under the Authority's influence, Subaru took advantage of her Authority to give those very same people hope and morale, to the point that the people were ready to take up arms and were no longer scared of their attackers.
Inhuman Strength: She is said to have the highest physical strength among the Sin Archbishops. Sirius can easily withstand strong attacks by simply blocking them with her bare hands. During her confrontation with Reinhard in the 3rd failed loop of Arc 5, Sirius displayed inhuman strength and resilience by blocking one of his kicks, which are powerful enough to send stone golems flying.
- Chain Wielding Mastery:
Sirius controlling the trajectory and direction of her chains against Priscilla.
Magic (魔法, Mahō): Sirius is a master of Fire Magic, though her application of the fire affinity is a bit different than most others'.
- Fire Manipulation: Sirius exhibits an uncanny mastery of fire magic, being capable of easily enveloping her arms or objects in a scorching-hot fire that can melt even Emilia's sturdy ice. By simply holding an object in her hands, Sirius can clad it in flames and greatly amplify her damage output. Having said that, the most common application of this technique can be seen with Sirius' golden chains; by wrapping them around her arms and igniting them, Sirius effectively turns her hands into flaming swords that can easily deflect sword or spear attacks and deal massive amounts of damage. Additionally, Sirius can perform ranged attacks using her fire magic; by enveloping her chains in fire, she can hit distant opponents not just with strikes capable of severing a human being in half, but she can also scorch them to death. Furthermore, if she uses her chains to peel off portions of her flesh, she is able to turn the blood that flies off from her body into greater flames that spew towards an enemy. During her confrontation with Regulus in Arc 5, Sirius managed to envelop Regulus in a vortex of apocalyptic flames that rose above the giant Time Tower and even melted the stone tiles on which Regulus was standing. Mere minutes later, Sirius proceeded to split the earth between Subaru and Regulus open and create a sea of flames between the fighting duo. Her fire control has been described as supernatural.
- Spatial Manipulation:
Sirius warping space to keep Tina hostage.
- Velocity Manipulation: Sirius displays a power that seemingly allow her to manipulate the speed at which a person or an object flows at. When Priscilla was approaching the Sin Archbishop, everything except her continued to progress at a normal speed while her velocity and momentum were unnaturally slowed, giving Sirius time to attack her while she was defenseless.[4]
Longevity: Sirius possesses an abnormally long lifespan, though the specifics behind her longevity have yet to be revealed. It is unknown if her Authority of Wrath causes it.
Equipment:
- Gospel (福音書, Fukuinsho): As a member of the Witch Cult, Sirius is the owner of a copy of a Gospel. Each Gospel is a replica of the Book of Wisdom, a book that had been in the possession of the Witch of Greed Echidna. The Book of Wisdom would provide exact details of future events concerning the Witch of Greed, essentially bestowing Echidna with a form of precognition. Unlike the original Book of Wisdom, the Gospels of the Witch Cult are imperfect replicas, meaning that, although they detail the future of its owner, the events conveyed are subject to change and the information provided is often up for interpretation. The Gospels take the form of small black books that only their owners can read.
- Conversation Mirror: A meteor that allows the user to get in contact with people who hold other such mirrors.
Trivia
- Sirius' name comes from the star Sirius, which is part of the Canis Major constellation and also the brightest star in the Earth's night sky. Due to Sirius being the brightest star, it is commonly called "the shining" or "the scorcher", which references her usage of fire magic.
- Sirius claims that misfortune has followed in her wake ever since her hometown was destroyed in a Witch Hunt. While en route to the Royal Capital with Felt and Reinhard, the dragon carriage transporting her was attacked by numerous bandits, was exposed to many rare inconveniences, and was even forced to take a detour due to a sudden witchbeast migration.
- Sirius has stated that her duty and name were gifts she received from Petelgeuse.[5] Despite this, the two were never married.
- According to the author, the reason why Sirius was aware of the stories of Iris and the King of Thorns, The Rose Knight of Tieros, and Magrizza's Guillotine will be explained in the future.[6]
