Karl was Julia's son. At his mother's funeral, Karl was able to maintain his cool and collected attitude, even though he showed traces of some childishness within him. It's presumed that before he was taken over by the original Roswaal, he cared a great deal for this mother.
Karl briefly came to know of Wilhelm at his mother's funeral, where Wilhelm swore an oath that he would become his strength, should he ever need it. Wilhelm was described to be quite earnest to the young Karl, speaking out the oath as a testament of his sincerity.
Karl spoke words of comfort to Carol at his mother's funeral, helping her overcome her grief and guilt for having Julia die in her place.
