Noelle Tuérico

Information

Noelle Tuérico (ノエル・トゥエリコ) is a former Itinerant Preacher of the Gustekan Church. She later deserted from her position to join the Omega Party.

Appearance

Noelle is a fair-skinned woman with a curved body and plump chest. She has long, braided gold hair that reaches down past her shoulders, clear blue eyes, and wears a thick, black church vestment.

Personality

Noelle is a friendly and cheerful girl who is willing to help those in need. That said, she is also smart and is properly wary of the people she is around, especially when it comes to fellow members of the Gustekan Church. Furthermore, she also has a vengeful side, born the day her village was crushed. She is patient and diligent enough to wait for years so that she can find her target. Likewise, she can also be rather brutal towards her enemies, and she is quick to resort to violence if her anyone she deems her enemy doesn't meet her demands.

History

When she was young, Noelle lived in the village of Leanotte. However, after an avalanche caused by the Ice Thieves, many of people died, including her family. After this, Noelle joined the Gustekan Church, training herself and awaiting the day she could get revenge on the people responsible. She eventually became an Itinerant Preacher.

One Wild Night

One day, after having seen a fire spell in the distance, Noelle found a party of girls in the snow, with one of them, Omega, passing out from the cold. They waited for Omega to regain her energy in a makeshift snow house Noelle created and spoke with her in the meantime, learning about the term Silver Blessing, her position in the Gustekan Church, and the nearby church building they can use as a refuge. They visit the church once Omega is rejuvenated and acquaint themselves with Podoso, Admonsah, and Maqueena, each of whom had come to the church to meet the pastor who lives there, Coatl. The trio learns of Coatl's history of having saved a local town from the effects of an avalanche unintentionally caused by the Ice Thieves and how he took up a position of the town's watcher following his charity towards its people, becoming known by the moniker Saint of the Avalanche. Maqueena and Podoso split off from everyone else to visit another part of the church, and another visitor named Trellock arrives while they are out. Eventually, Maqueena discovers something and screams, prompting everyone else to follow after her to find what has caused her fear. They all stumble upon Coatl's corpse, prompting Omega to say that there was a cold-blooded killer among them.

Omega took charge of the situation, using detective work to determine the killer's identity. She heard from Podoso that there had been a string of serial murders, with Coatl being the eighth known victim. The other victims were peddlers and travelers. Querying him about the seventh victim, Omega then sets her sights on Admonsah, whom she was certain was associated with them. They learn Admonsah was a former slave who unexpectedly killed his owner in self-defense. He was unequivocally forgiven by a majority of the group. Omega tries to ascertain why Coatl would be murdered, searching for any hidden savings. Suddenly, everyone but Maqueena in the room fell asleep to the effects of the Muskrim flower, and she made her getaway with Coatl's collection of magic stones, not wanting to stay and fall victim to his murderer. She was stopped outside by Noelle, who says she could not be affected by such a simple drug and had killed Coatl out of revenge for his former membership of the Ice Thieves and his part in causing the avalanche that devastated Leanotte, her town. Omega arrives to stop Noelle before she could kill Maqueena, outlining that she was only a con artist who perceived Coatl's connection to the Ice Thieves rather than an outright member before giving the ultimatum that she would die if she caused another death, yet again manifesting her true form while saying so. Meanwhile, the culprit responsible for the serial murderers, Trellock, attempted to murder Colette, but her Beast Protection Bracelet activated, severely injuring him. In the end, they pretended that Noelle had apprehended Trellock and left, Podoso decided to take in Admonsah, and Maqueena was forced to stop conning people. With her revenge foiled, Noelle was left aimless. Colette proposed for her to join their group to which she accepted upon Omega's approval.

Omega in Wonderland

The party continued to trudge to the snows of Gusteko, with Palmyra and Omega becoming exhausted. Attempting to give Palmyra some more energy, Colette attempted to let her use her bracelet, but when Palmyra tried, it left her weak and vomiting. Omega explained the reason for this, claiming she allowed it to happen because she wanted to see the look on her face. Afterward, she had Noelle carry Palmyra while Colette carried her. As they got closer to the town of Sylphoa, Omega dispelled a barrier, and eventually they reached the town, where she and Colette fell subject to the Dream Arts spell that had been cast over the town.

Meanwhile, Noelle and Palmyra, who were unaffected thanks to Noelle's seal, met with a Temple Knight named Zank Metley, who was there to hunt a heretic. Noelle and Palmyra, carrying the others' unconscious bodies, followed him into an empty tent, where he explained the situation. However, after entering into conflict with Palmyra, who does not follow the Church's teaching, Colette's bracelet senses danger and transformed her body into a beast. After Zank deemed her a heretic, Colette ran away with Omega and Palmyra, Noelle stood in his way and negotiated working with him to take care of the problem at hand, to which he complied. Soon after, Noelle encountered Shion who had just put Palmyra to sleep. Not listening to her, Noelle threatened Shion with violence, only to be warned that Zank had killed his allies. Shortly after, alongside the beastified Colette, she had a small fight with Zank, until Palmyra awoke and claimed that the other Temple Knight, Mikli Yulitô, was alive.

Following this, after Omega spoke to Zank, who had in reality come to retrieve Mikli, and had him leave with her and report the death of the heretic, Lilac, Shion's phantom, released the people of Sylphoa from her dream world, and Omega offered Shion and Lilac to join her party. Since she couldn't quite trust the two, having just met them, she would give them a chance to look into her memories with their Dream Arts, giving them a chance to find the person from which the loan words they speak come from. The two accepted her offer and joined the party.

Abilities

Acquired Skills: As part of her training with the Gustekan Church, Noelle has acquired several abilities.

  • Seal: As a part of her training, she was given a seal that makes her resistant to external magic and cursecraft, and it can even do the same for anyone she carries. With it, she was able to complete ignore the effects of Shion and Lilac's Dream Arts that affected an entire town.
  • Stimulant Resistance: Although Noelle has not been bestowed with a Blessing, as an Itinerant Preacher, she can resist drugs and poison.
  • Melee Fighter: As a former Itinerant Preacher, Noelle is skilled in combat. She has enough physical strength to smash a person’s head in, and she can momentarily clash with a Temple Knight like Zank Metley.

Equipment: Noelle wears a pair of dark-gray steel gloves that can easily be used to smash a person’s head in.

Trivia

  • When Noelle was initially introduced in the Monthly Comic Alive release of One Wild Night, her name was Lysa Conwell (ライサ・コンウェル, Raisa Konueru). However, with the release of Omega in Wonderland Part 1, the author permanently altered her name to Noelle Tuérico in her future appearances.
