Eugard Vollachia
300 years prior to the story, Yorna, once known as the village girl Iris, met Eugard when he made an appearance in her village. Despite the curse being exuded from his body, she walked up to him and talked to him like a normal person. Since then, the two had become closer until the point they fell in love with each other, with Eugard referring to her as “Mine Star”. It was this love that inspired Eugard to take to the throne, and Iris helped him every step of the way.
The day that Eugard was betrayed was the day that Iris was killed by one of his retainers, and his rage and grief led Eugard into madness, one so devastating that it led him to commence the mass slaughter of every wolf human and mole human in and out of Vollachia. His love was so strong that he cursed her soul after death with the Soul Marriage Curse to keep it from returning to Od Lagna, causing her to be reborn in tens of bodies with her memories.
Over the next 300 years, without her lover by her side, Iris tried to find a way to remove her curse so that she might meet him again in the afterlife. In her current life as Yorna, she was able to meet Eugard once again during the Great Disaster. Despite the appearance she sported in the present, he was able to realize who she was without complication. Meeting him again caused her great conflict, knowing that he should be dead and knowing that he had become the enemy of the living. However, she could neither fight against him, nor did she want to. That said, when Sphinx’s influence was removed from his body and he was able to switch sides, she felt like the village girl she used to be again, and she followed him into battle.
Prisca Benedict
In her life as Sandra Benedict, she had a baby with Drizen Vollachia that she named Prisca. Shortly after, she would die from the exhaustion of child birth, leaving Prisca without her mother. Reborn as Yorna, she did not get a chance to meet her daughter, and the next time that she would hear about her would be of her supposed demise. Despite this, when the two were reunited in Arc 7, she showed a tremendous amount of shock at Prisca’s presence. Similarly, Prisca, now Priscilla, was immediately be able to tell that Yorna was Sandra. Listening to her arrogant way of speaking and her apparently self-centered beliefs, Yorna would wonder what happened to cause her daughter to become so twisted, to which Priscilla did not have the answer for.
Later on, the two fought side-by-side during the Battle for the Imperial Capital. Despite the intensity of the battle they were involved in, Yorna scolded her daughter multiple times, once even bopping her on the head, causing Priscilla to become annoyed. During the fight, Yorna decided to take responsibility for her daughter after the battle was over.
Imperial Family
Vincent Vollachia
The two have a rather strange relationship. In the past, Yorna has both raised rebellions (which he promptly dealt with) and offered herself for marriage. Vincent seems to know what her real goal is, however, and due to his preparations for the Great Disaster including not taking on any wives, he declined her offers. That said, when he needed her assistance in Arc 7, he offered her something that she had long since been after, causing Yorna to feel genuine joy. Unfortunately, when the two met during the false Great Disaster, she would find his apathetic nature exceedingly frustrating to deal with. This feeling remained the same after the incident was over and he forced her into taking her side, bluntly stating that her citizens didn’t stand a chance otherwise.
Nine Divine Generals
Cecilus Segmunt
During the rebellion for Zoey’s killers, Cecilus was one of the people sent to quell it, and the two met in combat. Despite his overwhelming strength, he was unable to kill her. Naturally, Yorna was amazed with his power.
Arakiya
Like with Cecilus, Arakiya was also sent to quell her rebellion, and similarly, she was not able to kill the woman either. However, Arakiya left a strong impression on the woman, her sheer firepower having successfully burned down a large section of her city. The two would later meet in combat in Lupugana in Arc 7, where her improved combat strength left an even stronger impression on Yorna. Fighting against her alongside Priscilla, she was informed of the sister-like relationship the two had, and she decided to deal with her “daughters” after the battle was over.
Olbart Dunkelkenn
Yorna does not have a good impression of the Vicious Old Man. Having been made aware that he was playing dirty against a pair of children as well as interfering with their group in spite of her threat for him to leave them alone, she demanded he end the game and tell her where Tanza was. After having denied Subaru’s attempt to back out of their game, Yorna and Olbart met in combat, Yorna becoming angered that he wouldn’t even heed to the words of a child. Even after the fight was over and he informed them of Tanza’s location, Yorna was left annoyed by his demeanor.
Vollachians
Zoey
Zoey made her way to Chaosflame with her sister after having heard from rumors what the place was like. Soon after their arrival, Zoey became Yorna’s most trusted attendant, and she followed her every wish. The two held a great amount of trust in each other, with Zoey eventually going out with a group of her fellow demi-humans to talk with others. However, after she was found dead, tortured by imperial soldiers, Yorna was extremely angered and saddened, and she even ignited a rebellion that would last until every soldier involved in Zoey’s death was handed to her for their execution. Yorna still thinks fondly of her to this day.
Tanza
Like her sister Zoey, Tanza held great respect for Yorna. Following the death of her sister, when she was still grieving, Yorna spoke to her with the same anger and sadness that Tanza held, and she soon began the rebellion for the lives of the imperial soldiers. This caused Tanza’s love and respect to grow further, and she soon began to take on the role of Yorna’s assistant, similar to the way her sister did. Since then, she has obeyed every word Yorna asked of her without question, causing Yorna to worry about her.
In Arc 7, when Vincent came to Yorna intending to get her involved in the Imperial Civil War, Tanza attempted to force him to back out of getting her involved, though she ultimately failed. At the same time, when Yorna discovered Subaru and Spica when they snuck into the castle, when she mistook them as friends of Tanza’s, she felt some relief, stating that she believed that Tanza should be able to play with friend without having to worry about herself.
Shortly after these two events, when a great shadow began to destroy Chaosflame, Tanza nearly gave her in an attempt to push it back, causing Yorna to feel heavy grief. Fortunately, thanks to her Soul Marriage Technique, she knew that Tanza was alive, but since she didn’t know where she was, she felt conflicted. The two wouldn’t reunite until the events of the Great Disaster, where although she felt tremendous relief at her survival, she tried to push her away with false words in order to keep her out of the battle and safe. Despite this, it did not work, her Soul Marriage Technique burning far stronger than ever before on the girl. Seeing her fight with a new strength, Yorna realized she had grown in the time that they were apart, and she would feel happy about it, realizing that the time apart and with someone else was what was needed to fuel this growth.
Rowan Segmunt
In Arc 8, when Yorna was being forced to defend one of the bastions, she attempted to force Rowan to back away, not wishing to take his life. However, realizing he might could reach the Heavenly Sword through her, the man killed himself, turning himself into an zombie, and fought her in overwhelming numbers, using her to strengthen his own skill in the sword. Frustrated that her own weakness led to this outcome, Yorna nearly lost her life against the many undead clones of the man.
Emilia Camp
Natsuki Subaru
Yorna first met Subaru when he was taking on the guise of Natsumi Schwartz and attending a meeting. Finding his boldness amusing, she allowed the group to escape, and she made sure to threaten the opposing party not go after him while they were in her city. The two met again later when Subaru became infantilized. Not realizing the two were the same person, she showed a much softer side of herself to him, causing him to be surprised. Hearing his account of what Olbart was doing and Tanza’s disappearance, she decided to assist him in dealing with the Vicious Old Man.
During the subsequent battle, though she doesn’t remember it as it happened in numerous failed loops, Yorna attempted to save Subaru’s life by kissing him and causing his emotions to sway for her so that her power could save his life. Shortly after the fight, she would bear witness to the shadows erupting from his body and attempted to devour everything around him. She seems to have realized that it was not something intentional, but having to deal with the shadows left her tremendously worried for the boy’s safety. Even after the incident was over, she couldn’t help but feel worried for the boy, unsure of whether he was alive. That said, when they reunited in Lupugana, she was relieved to see him safe and was grateful that he took care of Tanza for her.
The two met again in Garkla after Subaru’s body had returned to normal. Though she was surprised by his proper appearance, they remained on friendly terms. What she thinks about the incident surrounding Subaru in Chaosflame, however, is presently unknown.
After the Great Disaster ended, when it came time for Subaru to leave Vollachia, Yorna told Subaru that he was welcome to see her at any time.
Others
Spica
Yorna first met Spica when she visited the castle with the infantilized Subaru. Like with Subaru, she thought of the girl as nothing more than a child and showed a softer side of herself to the girl. Naturally, she was surprised at her teleportation and sheer skill when she displayed it against both Olbart and the false Great Disaster. Later, though she would find out her identity as the Sin Archbishop of Gluttony, Yorna was one of the first people to defend her, and she was willing to fight for her if need be.
