Family
Medium O'Connell
Flop is very close with his sister, having never separated from her in his life. She believes in her brother’s intelligence, and she always goes along with whatever her brother has in mind. In fact, she even became his bodyguard when he became a merchant. Any time Medium went to fight, Flop always cheered for her, allowing her to perform better. His love for her is deep enough that he even set her up to become the emperor’s bride, realizing the two loved each other and hoping for their happiness. He also recognizes her strength, vouching for her when it came time to fight back Sphinx’s forces.
Balleroy Temeglyph
Having grown up together, Flop and Balleroy were as close as brothers, with Flop often referring to Balleroy as Ballebro. He knew him well enough to know that he wouldn’t take risks or give his life without a certain reason, especially without telling Flop and his family beforehand. Naturally, Flop was sad when he heard news of Balleroy’s death. Despite him being labeled as an enemy of Vollachia, Flop knew better, and later, he got the answers he wanted from Vincent about Balleroy. Naturally, he was saddened to learn that Balleroy was revived as a zombie during the Great Disaster, and unfortunately, he would not be able to have one last conversation with him.
Carillon
Flop helped raise Carillon when they were younger, sometimes even flying on his back. He even kept Carillon’s baby teeth that had fallen out on a necklace. Naturally, Flop was saddened to hear of his death, and saddened again to realize he’d been revived as a zombie with Balleroy.
Miles
After Miles saved Flop and Medium from the abusive orphanage they grew up in, they became close, with Flop referring to Miles as Big Bro. Naturally, he was saddened to hear of his death in Lugunica.
Serena Dracroy
Serena took Flop and Medium in and cared for them in her domain when Miles brought them there, and they became close, with Flop referring to her as Big Sis.
Taritta Shudrak
Taritta and Flop first met when Subaru brought him back to the Shudrakian village. In the times the two interacted during then and the Fall of Guaral, Flop and Taritta became fond of each other. After seeing her take charge as the new Shudrakian Chief after her sister’s injury, he was inspired by her to take action when the opportunity presented itself. After the Great Disaster, he asked her to marry him, and after Mizelda gave her the push she needed, she accepted his proposal.
Mizelda Shudrak
The two got along rather well when they met, with Mizelda complimenting both his appearance and his attitude. Later, she helped her sister accept Flop’s proposal for marriage, leaving Flop grateful for her help and calling her sister-in-law.
Vincent Vollachia
Abel first met the merchant when Subaru brought him back to the Shudrakian Village. Though he respects Flop’s ability as a merchant, he finds his naïveté to be frustrating, as it interfered with his goal of taking over Guaral. The two would work together and ultimately complete the Bloodless Siege. On the other hand, Flop respects Abel, and he often calls him Village Chief in lieu of his proper title or the name he decided to go by. That said, because their views often don’t align, Flop often ends up pointing out his own views and getting on the nerves of the emperor.
Despite recognizing him as the emperor, if he feels that it is important enough, he will physically take him aside to talk to him, such as when he would pass on Chisha’s message to him and ask of the real reason of Balleroy’s demise. Ultimately, he would trust Vincent, even asking him to take on his sister as one of his brides, much to her surprise and confusion. Following the Great Disaster, Vincent became Flop’s brother-in-law.
Nine Divine Generals
Chisha Gold
The two initially met when Flop was held in Berstetz Fondalfon’s mansion to be healed. Chisha, using the face and personality of Vincent, often talked to Flop in a condescending manner. Flop, of course, never differentiated his attitude towards him from the way he treat the real Vincent, and he had no problems with picking apart everything the man was saying. Despite this, the White Spider trusted Flop with a message for Vincent, which allowed him to fight back against the Great Disaster.
Madelyn Eschart
The two first met when Madelyn cut him down. Though the two initially didn’t know each other, when she noticed Carillon’s baby teeth around his neck, she wanted answer from him, which prompted Rem and Flop to use his condition to stop an attack on Guaral. As he was healed, he told Madelyn bits and pieces of Balleroy’s and Carillon’s histories with him. However, the two have yet to meet since the before the start of the Battle for the Imperial Capital.
Emilia Camp
Natsuki Subaru
Flop was very friendly with Subaru, helping him to get into Guaral when they needed help. Due to Subaru’s need to hide his identity, Flop often called him Husband-kun. They got along rather well, and during a few failed loops, Flop even tried to save Subaru’s life by offering his own. When it came time to leave Guaral, Flop was far more than willing to assist him in his escape, and he joined him in the Shudrakian village. During discussions with Vincent to determine how they would take Guaral, Subaru agreed with Flop’s point of view, and with that in mind, the two worked well together to overtake Guaral.
According to Flop, when he confronted Vincent in the coupled dragon carriage, if he hadn’t given him a good answer, Flop was going to try and convince Subaru to become the emperor in order to change the country. That said, he didn’t want to ask that of him, and fortunately, he didn’t have to.
When the two met again after the Great Disaster, they thanked each other for the time they spent together. Flop said that if he came back to Vollachia to seek him out, and if he were to go to the Kingdom, then he’d seek out Subaru.
Rem
Like with Subaru, he was very friendly with Rem, often referring to her as Wife-kun. Of course, Rem also respects his point of view, but at the same time, she also realizes that it wasn’t very realistic. Later, the two worked together in Guaral to stop Madelyn’s attack, using Flop’s injured condition from receiving an attack meant for Rem as leverage since Madelyn wanted information from him. During their time in Berstetz’s mansion, the two continued to work together, with Rem continuing to heal Flop, and they shared information until they could make their escape together.
Others
Spica
Like with Subaru and Rem, he got along rather well with Spica, finding her entertaining. That said, he does not know of her identity as the former Sin Archbishop of Gluttony.
